“I think with the right support system and enough time, people can really understand their strengths in survival and then use those strengths and create a more thriving life.”
Hillary Catrow, acupuncturist, is the owner of Quil Studio in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood. In this interview she discusses her experience working with survivors of torture, the ways that trauma can present in the body and how she uses acupuncture and additional training to help her patients work through their trauma.
Aside from the hopeful quote above, one of my favorite things Hillary shared in this interview was, “We’re constantly running from these ideas of pain and suffering, and it is really through the pain and suffering that we gain insight into what is going on and what we’re experiencing in the world."
